About NJ ACE Women's Network


ACE Women’s Network – New Jersey is a statewide organization committed to your professional development. We are affiliated with the American Council on Education.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of dedicated and influential volunteers from colleges and universities across the state who, through a variety of programs, seek to identify, develop, encourage, support, link and help advance women in higher education. To that end, each year we host two conferences that are specifically tailored to meet your professional development needs, based on feedback we receive from participants.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the ACE Women’s Network – New Jersey is outlined in Article II of the organization’s Constitution and Bylaws as follows:

The New Jersey Chapter Board of Directors is responsible for coordinating efforts designed to further the goals of the national organization, and for implementing an institutional representative structure that fosters intra- and inter-institutional networks that forward national as well as regional goals. Further, the purpose of this Board shall be:

  1. To provide and stimulate leadership among women engaged in teaching and administration in colleges and universities in New Jersey.
  2. To provide a forum for women to learn networking strategies and develop networks across the State of New Jersey.
  3. To improve professional recognition for the contributions of women in higher education.
  4. To encourage women to prepare for and to compete for leadership roles in higher education.
  5. To identify, develop, advance, and support women in higher education.
  6. To cooperate with the actions of the American Council on Education-Office of Women in Higher Education (ACE-OWHE) and to help further that organization’s goals.

Our Ideals

The IDEALS of ACE Women’s Network – New Jersey are to actively identify, develop, encourage, advance, link and support women in higher education.

Over the past year, more than 200 women in higher education in New Jersey have participated in our events.

Our IDEALS are met through our annual activities that include:

  • Providing professional development opportunities for women in higher education to promote career advancement.
  • Supporting the creation of ACE Women’s Network – New Jersey local chapters on college campuses throughout New Jersey.
  • Hosting an annual conference focused on developing and enhancing women’s academic leadership.
  • Sponsoring an annual professional development program for women of color.
  • Inspiring institutional representatives at New Jersey’s colleges and universities to implement the IDEALS of the ACE Women’s Network – New Jersey on their campuses.
